DOPE!!
I got a chance to ask the face behind the production above a few questions :)
ME: So what is The Fashion Massacre? Tell me a little bit about it's vision.
FANCIEE:Hmmmmm “The Fashion Massacre” Where can I start?? (Giggles) Well I always mention this but I have a book in which I write all my life goals in present tense. I wrote about this event a year before I named it “The Fashion Massacre” and I believe that it would come to past. A couple months after I wrote about the event I started seeking knowledge, watching and learning from the best. I didn’t just have faith I had great faith!! I knew this event had to come to past because it was in my dream book. The definition of The Fashion Massacre is the killing of the runway from ones point of view. It’s a really deep metaphor that I and my previous partner Frankie came up with. I personally wanted to turn Detroit fashion up a notch and The Fashion Massacre was the perfect way to do so. I decided to make the event annual because I’m soooooo for PROGRESS! I literally want people to see me grow in FASHION!!!
ME: How many designers will be showcased? And how did you go about seeking out the talent?
FANCIEE:To tell you the truth I do a lot of networking. It’s a very vital aspect of my career therefore most of the designers I meet at social gatherings or either on my Facebook Page. There will be a total of 28 Designers in the entire event. I've been working on The Fashion Massacre2 since last year's event.
ME: How can we get tickets?!
FANCIEE:You can purchase tickets from the Chapter 1 show location. “Arts League of Michigan” Downtown Detroit (Harmonie Park).
ME:Tell me about Tyna Logan the person, entrepreneur, and future fashion mogul?
FANCIEE:So u wants to know about FANCIEE ayyyyyyye! I am just a driven person who happens to be in love with fashion. I knew this was my passion back when I was 5 playing dress up in my mom’s closet. Or even when I was styling for people at a local clothing store I used to work for in grade school. I was always identified as the odd one and I loved it! (Takes a DEEP BREATH) mannnnnn I’m grateful!! I’m actually living out my dreams and I’m super content. I’m never going to play it safe especially when I got God on my side and with him I can accomplish all things through Christ who strengthens me!! Oh yea I love PIE CRUST by the way (GIGGLES)
ME:Outside of producing fashion shows, and running your own line what else are you looking to do?
FANCIEE: I am a Mother so outside of fashion I’m at “Jeepers” or “Chuckie Cheese” getting it in. I have a 6 year old son who I believe is going to be a MASTER DESIGNER!! <
ME:What's in store for Fanciee Clothing in the near future?
FANCIEE:I’m going 2 pull a rabbit out of a hat in 2010= I’m working on a new line of T-shirts, more shows, re-launching of my site, and more styling. I’m also going to be featured in a couple shows out of state that I’m really excited about!!
ME:Define your style and tell me about your designer influences...
FANCIEE:My style is Different….no it’s unusual…no it’s actually abnormal ok ok my style is DISSIMILAR! I’m really having fun but I like to play around with vintage pieces. I am so into shopping at thrift stores. It’s exciting finding one of kind pieces. I’m definitely a rebel when it’s come to my style. Designers... Oh gosh the list will go on forever but I Live for Alexander McQueen, Kesh, Valentino, Zac Posen and hmmmmmm maybe Betsy.
ME: Thanks so much love for your time! I can identify with a lot of what you said..especially the part about being viewed as the odd one. I was content in rocking what I wanted how I wanted growing up when everyone else was concerned with rocking the latest names in urban gear. Newflash: Labels or lack thereof does not equal: FASHION or STYLE for that matter. And I absolutely live for the Salvation Army hunny!
FANCIEE: I just want to thank you for this opportunity and also my lovely Massacre2 staff and I guess I'll see you guys at The Fashion Massacre2!! Peace Up!!
