MEag: Combative

My INSPIRATION for today's outfit.  I was cleaning my room yesterday and stumbled across these boots.  These boots hold so many memories.  Some good, some bad.  The MADE greeks of the National Pan-Hellenic Council know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.  I received these boots as a gift once I was chosen to join The Illustrious and Ultimate Sorority that which is Delta Sigma Theta.

Who knew such boots that hold so much history would now be a fashion staple.  Combat boots have officially MADE a comeback.  The wear and tear of mine adds a little character.

Plaid Top (I got a little scissor happy and cut the sleeves off), Blue Heathered Cropped Top F21, Destroyed Black Jeans F21

The BEST pics are the ones caught off guard :)

Accessorized with a Black Elephant neck-piece (trunks up), Black & Silver Grommet Belt both F21, and Bangles thrifted.

StyleTip: Take a look in your closet.  We all have them, you know those old items that we refuse to give up?  I challenge you to revamp them and work them into your wardrobe this week.  The items that we hold near and dear to our hearts have the most value.  If it's in your closet rather old or new, USE IT, WEAR IT, LOVE IT.  The old paired with the new is the perfect balance.

pEEp This: VileThreads

You know I live for great Vintage finds!  My friends over at VileThreads asked me to model some merchandise for their Etsy shop and brought over these two lovely pieces!  Needless to say the pics didn't happen because I had to have them for MYSELF.  Sorry Guys :)

Teal Leather Cropped Jacket, 3-button front with Blazer Lapels.  I fell in love with the color first and silhouette second. Chiffon Leopard Print shirt is mine, nice contrast though.

This dress fits me like a glove.  Fits like it was made especially for ME.  Seems like a Polyester/Spandex Blend.

Loves the Pops of Color.

Check out VileThreads at http://www.etsy.com/shop/vilethreads

MEag: Cropped Out

I wore this outfit Sunday and had a much needed session with some friends!

Cropped Top thrifted, Fair Isle Vest American Eagle, Hi-Waisted Wide leg Jeans H&M, Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars

I copped this vest on an impromptu run to A&E.  I spotted it hiding on a rack, tried it on, and fell in love.  Even more incentive to buy was that it was on sale for $8.99 (regularly priced $89.50 to be exact).  I'm no math genius but that's like a 90% discount.  I live for deals like these!

What was once old is now new again! Loving the cropped tops I am seeing everywhere and grabbed this one at The Salvation Army a few months back.

Pants are a little wrinkled! oh well..I'm human :)

Chucks are CLASSIC

I haven't done a style tip in a while so...StyleTip:  Cropped tee's and shirts are all over the runway and in magazines.  Either you love them or hate them.  I LOVE them.  Especially paired with my obsession of hi-waisted bottoms.  When choosing a cropped top keep in mind your proportions and the fit of the shirt.  The ones I am seeing are boxy and oversized.  Purchase a size smaller to avoid loosing your shape in the garment.  If you have the ab game don't be afraid to show a little tummy.  If not you can try layering it over a tank dress or with some boyfriend jeans.

PeopleWatch: All Black Everything

I came across this young lady at an event I attended last week.  Outside of being absolutely gorgeous, her style is effortless.  In a black boyfriend blazer, black skinny jeans, and black knee-high riding boots I'm loving it!

LOVES THE BOOTS!

PeopleWatch: Rugby Stripes Made Chic

A few weeks ago I introduced a new section to iaME called People Watch.  Often times I am out and about and see things and people who inspire me.  Here's a chance to see the world through my lenses.

I was at the nail shop and in walked this young lady who brought chicness and sophistication to rugby stripes...

Rugby Tunic layered over what seems to be sequined tank dress.

Black Tights and T-strap Mary Janes topped it off.

She belted it to accent her figure and accessorized with a modest bracelet.

CUTE!

MEag:It's My Birthday, I can cry if I want to!

Yesterday was absolutely BEAUTIFUL.  I could not have asked for better weather on my birthday!  After the weekend festivities I just wanted to chill and enjoy the breeze..... and that's exactly what I did.  I worked (yes, on my birthday..ever thankful for the gift of a j o b), napped, then caught a late dinner and movie with my love and forever friend Nia.  Pics of my outfit below...

After being in heels alll weekend and my feet paying the price..I just wanted to be comfy!
Grey V-neck slub Tee, Jade Leggings and Grey Western Boots from Journey's.
Chain scarf was a Birthday gift from mommy :)

Yes, both sides of my head are now shaved...(what?? it's just hair!)

Easy way to snazz up a simple oufit..accessorize.  I can think of so many ways to style this scarf.  I love it!

......................................................................

I was too pooped Sunday to post but I went to the Casino Saturday with my forever friend Dashuna and crew.  Needless to say it was a fail.  Although we didn't lose too much, we hadn't an idea of Casino etiquette. FUN TIMES lol.  Anywho pics below...

There's that jacket again :)
Destroyed Black Denim F21, Shoes ALDO, Bag thrifted

Earrings, Zebra Necklace, and Bow cuff Bracelet F21.  I picked up this bag at a thrift store a few years ago and I love the print.  When I seen it, I immediately thought of Spike Lee's Do The Right Thing.

Me & Shuna trying to figure out how to pose.
This post would be 10 pages long if I began to tell you about all of the memories we've shared.  She truly gets ME and I get HER.  Cheers to Forever Friends! :)

I wonder when the time will come that I will no longer get excited about my birthday...I think NEVER!  Birthdays to me are like personal Holidays.  Each birthday you are entering into a New Year of life.  Its a Beautiful thing.  A day that God designated you to be placed on earth.  A day that should be captured.

iWISH

a girl can wish can't she? OF COURSE she can! Especially when her birthday is in 8 days (YAY ME).  Instead of thinking about things I need, im thinking about things that I want.

The Hostetter bag from ALDO.  I'm in love with this electric royal blue, You can add a pop to any outfit with this bold hue! Perfect for Spring and roomy enough for Fashionista's on the GO!

I came across these Jeffrey Campbell boots on ModCloth.  Loves the prairie girl-meets- grunge look.  Paired with a grey mini and loose fitting cropped top? Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Another ModCloth find!  This skirt channels my inner child.  Remember the huge itchy sweaters you wore in Kindergarten with the huuuuuge hearts and hammer (harem) pants? I DO! Imagine that transformed into a cute hi-waisted mini :)

In a perfect world, with the perfect body, and perfect $funds$...this would be my birthday dress! This French Connection Wimbledon dress is funky, bright, bold and sexy... just how I like it...

ALDO has the best shoes lately!  Loves the cork wedge paired with the casual canvas upper.  I found this seagreen 60's inspired romper at The Salvation Army a few weeks ago that would be perfect with these.

The Countdown BEGINS...
